We believe hijab starts in the heart with the intention of pleasing Allah, to the actions of the woman, and her clothes are only the final part of that, a visual testament of that belief. When we wear proper hijab our clothes are a brand that reads "Muslim".

That brand stands to say: "I am a Muslim woman. I believe in One God, la illah il Allah, and am trying to be a better person, humble, always examining myself."

That brand says: "Allah is beautiful, and loves beauty, and the best garment is remembrance of Allah."

Dua [prayer] for entering a marketplace or before shopping:

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٍ

laa 'ilaaha 'illa-llaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu lahu-lmulku wa lahu-l-hamdu yuhyee wa yumeetu wa huwa hayyun laa yamootu biyadihi-l-khairu wa huwa 'ala kulli shai 'in qadeer.

"There is none worthy of worship besides Allah. He is all by Himself. He has no partner. His is the Kingdom, to Him is all praise. He gives and takes life. He is all by Himself. He will not die. In His hands is all good and He has control (power) over all things". It is stated in the hadith that if a person reads the above dua in the market place, Allah writes a million rewards for him/her.
